Privacy policy
ShiftDrop converts and edits files on your own computer. The short version of this policy: we don't collect anything. There is no account, no analytics, no ads, and the app never connects to the internet.
01 Your files
Every conversion and edit happens locally on your PC. Files you drop on the wheel are read from your disk and the results are written next to them. Nothing is uploaded, copied to a server, or shared with anyone, including us.
02 What stays on your computer
- Settings. Your tray or menu-bar choices (enabled, dock, start at login) are stored in your user settings: the registry on Windows, a preferences file on macOS, and
~/.configon Linux. - A local error log at
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ShiftDrop\shiftdrop.log(Windows),~/Library/Application Support/ShiftDrop/(macOS) or~/.local/state/ShiftDrop/(Linux). It records which actions ran and any errors, including file names, so you can troubleshoot. It never leaves your computer unless you choose to send it to us.
Uninstalling ShiftDrop removes both.
03 Downloading ShiftDrop
The installer is hosted on GitHub, so GitHub's own privacy statement covers the download itself. This website uses Google Fonts, which receives standard request information (such as your IP address) when the page loads.
04 Feedback
If you send feedback through the devIndi feedback form or by email, we receive only what you choose to write, and use it only to reply and improve ShiftDrop.
05 This website
This website (not the app) measures how visitors use devindi.in: pages viewed, the site that linked you here, clicks, how far you scroll, time on each page, and your device type, browser, language and time zone. Some visits are saved as an anonymous replay of scrolling, mouse movement and clicks; anything typed into a form is hidden before it is saved. A random ID is kept in your browser to tell visits apart. We don't store your IP address, don't use advertising trackers, and never sell or share this data; it stays in our own database (hosted by Supabase). If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, none of this runs.
06 Changes to this policy
If a future version ever changes how data is handled, for example by adding an update check, we'll update this page and the date above before releasing it.
