Most torrent clients come with ads, bundled offers or a cluttered window from 2006. SlipTide doesn't. Paste a magnet link, pick one of your folders and the files you want, and it starts. Press play and the video streams while it downloads. Drop in a folder and it becomes a torrent you can share with a link or a QR code. No ads, no accounts, no tracking.
01 / How it works
Paste anything
A magnet link, a .torrent file, a link to one, or just an info hash. Press Ctrl+V anywhere in the app, or drop files on the window.
Choose where, and what
Pick a folder from the ones you've used before. SlipTide suggests the one you last used for the same kind of content. The file list loads from peers while you decide, so you can untick what you don't need.
Watch while it downloads
Press play and SlipTide fetches the video in order, so it starts in seconds instead of after the whole file arrives.
Keep it or share it
Seed finished files back, or turn your own files into a torrent with a link and a QR code.
02 / Opens anything

03 / Why it's different
No ads. Ever.
No banners, no bundled offers, no "Pro" upsell, no account. The app has no analytics and never phones home.
Watch it before it's done
A built-in player for video, audio and images. For formats it can't play, copy a stream link and open it in VLC.
Your folders, remembered
Every torrent asks where to save it, with a dropdown of the folders you've used before and what went into each. Movies go to your movie folder without you thinking about it.
Make a torrent in one drop
Drop a file or folder. You get a .torrent, a magnet link and a QR code, and seeding starts straight away.
Two swarms, one app
SlipTide talks to regular BitTorrent apps and to browser-based WebTorrent peers, so it finds more sources for the same file.
Slow down on a schedule
Turtle mode drops to the speed limits you set, with one click or automatically, say on weekdays from 9 to 6.

Queue & seeding goals
Choose how many torrents download at once. Stop seeding at a ratio or after a set time, or force-start one now.
Finds peers fast
DHT, peer exchange, local network discovery and automatic router setup. Tracker boost adds reliable public trackers to public torrents, never to private ones.
Encryption & blocklists
Encrypt peer connections (off, prefer or require) and load a P2P IP blocklist from a link or a file.
See what's happening
Every peer's app, speed and progress, a live map of the pieces you have, speed graphs and lifetime totals.
Stays out of the way
Lives in the tray, shows progress on the taskbar, tells you when a download finishes and keeps the PC awake until it does.
Pick only the files you want
See every file and its size before anything downloads, and untick the rest. Change your mind later from the Files tab. Free space on the drive is shown as you choose.
Built for the keyboard
Space pause, Enter play, Delete remove, Ctrl+N create, Ctrl+F filter.
Labels & tidy-up
Group torrents with labels, search and sort them, move finished files, re-check them, or export the .torrent. Like every devIndi app, SlipTide was built with AI, then tested on real downloads and refined by hand.

06 / Installing
| Installer | Run SlipTide-Setup-1.1.0.exe. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” (SlipTide is a new, independent app without a paid code-signing certificate), click More info → Run anyway. You can choose where it installs; it adds Start menu and desktop shortcuts and opens .torrent files and magnet links. Uninstall from Settings → Apps. |
| Portable | Put SlipTide-Portable-1.1.0.exe in any folder (or on a USB stick) and run it. Its settings and torrent list live in a SlipTide-data folder next to it. Delete both to remove it. |
| Firewall | The first time it runs, Windows may ask whether SlipTide can use the network. Allow it on private networks so other peers can reach you; downloads still work if you don't. |
| Use it responsibly | SlipTide is a tool for sharing files. Only download and share things you have the right to, such as open-source software, public-domain films and your own files. Your IP address is visible to other peers in a swarm, as with every torrent app. |
