Terms Privacy

Shotly captures, edits and searches screenshots on your own computer. The short version: your screenshots and the text inside them never leave your PC. The app only goes online to check your license key with our payment provider.

01 Your screenshots

Captures are saved to the folder you choose (Pictures › Screenshots by default) and copied to your clipboard. To make screenshots searchable, Shotly reads their text with the text recognition built into Windows, on your PC. Nothing is uploaded, analysed online or shared with anyone, including us.

02 What stays on your computer

  • The search index: the text found in your screenshots, small thumbnails, and where each file is. Stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Shotly.
  • Settings: your folders, shortcuts and choices.
  • A local log (shotly.log) with actions and errors, including file names, to help you troubleshoot. It never leaves your PC unless you send it to us.
  • Your license, encrypted so only your Windows account can read it.

Uninstalling keeps these so a reinstall picks up where you left off. Tick "Also delete…" when uninstalling to remove them.

03 License checks

When you activate Shotly, and about once a week after that, the app sends your license key, an activation ID and your PC's name to the license server of Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. This tells us the key is genuine and how many PCs use it. Nothing else is sent: no screenshots, no text, no usage data.

If your PC is offline, Shotly keeps working for 30 days between checks.

04 Buying Shotly

Shotly is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles sales tax and sends your receipt, download link and license key. Lemon Squeezy collects the details needed for that (such as your name, email, billing country and payment details) under its own privacy policy.

We receive your name, email address, country and order details, and use them only to deliver your license, provide support and handle refunds. We never see your full card details, and we never sell or share your information.

05 Feedback

If you send feedback through the devIndi feedback form or by email, we receive only what you choose to write, and use it only to reply and improve Shotly.

06 This website

This website (not the app) measures how visitors use devindi.in: pages viewed, the site that linked you here, clicks, how far you scroll, time on each page, and your device type, browser, language and time zone. Some visits are saved as an anonymous replay of scrolling, mouse movement and clicks; anything typed into a form is hidden before it is saved. A random ID is kept in your browser to tell visits apart. We don't store your IP address, don't use advertising trackers, and never sell or share this data; it stays in our own database (hosted by Supabase). If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, none of this runs. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. On the Shotly page, it loads the Lemon Squeezy checkout when you click Buy, and asks open.er-api.com for exchange rates to show the price in your currency (only your browser's standard request details are sent).

07 Your choices and contact

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to reach@devindi.in. For payment records, Lemon Squeezy may need to keep some information for tax and legal reasons.

08 Changes to this policy

If a future version changes how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date above before releasing it.
